What Comes Out of Your Mouth

Post written by Raymund Tamayo

Have you ever taken time observing the words you speak?

What you frequently say and talk about is an accurate indication of what is in your heart. Positive speaking means speaking blessings. Negative speaking is speaking curses.

Do your words bless and encourage others? Do your words reveal a patient heart? Or are people hurt or angry because of the things you say? Do you tend to criticize others? Do you always grumble and complain?

These things that come out of the mouth are from the heart. And they give away who you are.

A sanctified mouth is a wonderful instrument for God. A heart cleansed and filled by the Holy Spirit will only produce pure and loving words.

All of us find ourselves guilty of this during many points in our lives. Without excuses, let’s ask God for forgiveness and let the Holy Spirit discipline our mouths so that every word we speak will be life-giving.

“But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man.” – Matthew 15:18
