Our One Thing

Post written by Raymund Tamayo
It’s amazing how we love to complicate life.

We easily take on more commitments than we can handle and fill our calendars with more activities than we can fit in.

Yet all the busyness leaves us empty.

We long to find our place, where we belong. We want to know what we were made for and how we fit in to the big picture.

HE FILLS OUR EMPTINESS

Our great God answers all of our questions and fills all of our emptiness.

When we worship and praise Him, when we bow our hearts and knees before Him, we realize who He is and what He has done.

He is our rock – solid, immovable. We can count on Him always to be there.

He is our fortress – a place of refuge where we can run for safety, protection, and comfort.

He is our deliverer – our help when all hope seems gone.

ONLY ONE THING

Jesus told his friend Martha, “You are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed” (Luke 10:41-42).

That one thing is Jesus Himself, and a willingness to sit at His feet and listen to Him.

Can we slow down and sit down now and make Jesus our one thing?

“He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he.” Deuteronomy 32:4
