And when He had sent them away, He departed to the mountain to pray. - Mark 6:46
What do you do after a spiritual victory? Where do you go after reaching a high point in your Christian life? Jesus went to pray.

Peace and Faith

Raymund and Denielle's Note: This is a re-post from www.powertochange.com. We hope you find as much blessing and encouragement with it as we did.

“Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.” – Proverbs 4:23
Walking in peace, with your heart calm even when your life is not, is one of the wonderful benefits of the Christian life. God reminds us to pay attention to what is going on within our hearts and to make some intentional choices.

Daily Dependence

Raymund's Note: Taken from "What Matters Most for Men" by Mark Gilroy Communications

“Trust the Lord with all your heart, and don’t depend on your own understanding. Remember the Lord in all you do, and he will give you success.” – Proverbs 3:5-6

We rightfully teach our children – and attempt to live our own lives – by the credos of responsibility, self-control, and mature self-reliance.

And yes, being responsible is a very good thing. But when our attitude reaches the point where we trust more in ourselves than in God, twin temptations, both that lead to spiritual shipwreck, suddenly confront us.

Give God Time

Raymund and Denielle's Note: This is an essay taken from "God is in the small stuff - and it all matters" by Bruce & Stan. We reformatted the paragraphs to make a better online reading experience.

"Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for Him to act." - Psalm 37:7, NLT
If there's one thing we need in the midst of our busy, loud, and nervous lives, it's the inner peace and quiet and assurance that only God can give.

It's the only way to see God's purposes for us, let alone keep our sanity.

The thing is, God doesn't yell out and say, "Hey, you're neglecting me. Sit still for a moment so you can hear me."

It is awkward and uncomfortable being around a tactless person.

Much more so when people around you start to realize that you are friends.

Being with The Big Mouth should not be that uncomfortable if you know what to do and where he is coming from.

Below are some tips on how to handle a tactless person.

The Art of Silence

Editor's Note: This is a guest post from Al Monina at Istoryaheng Disyerto

Silence is an art, because not everyone can choose to be quiet without difficulty.
It requires a virtue of patience.

I don’t know since when I became silent. I’m not the quiet type in highschool and in college. I can say that I’ve become a completely different person as an adult. I became comfortable with my own silence, I found peace in solitude.

Reduce Stress Instantly with Deep Breathing

Post written by Raymund and Denielle Tamayo

A stress-free life is impossible. Stress is the natural response of the human body to tension and challenges, and a life without challenges would make us feel dead inside anyway.

However, too much stress is harmful to our holistic well-being. Not only does it damage our physical health, it also affects our mental, emotional, and spiritual standings.

Doing Nothing – Creating Life’s White Space

Post written by Raymund Tamayo

In his blog minimalchanges.com, fellow Filipino minimalist Kevin Olega talked about The Sweetness of Doing Nothing.

I wondered when was the last time I did exactly that – nothing.

I’ve already learned how to simplify my priorities and only do what really matters, but being a family man, I feel like I’m always doing something.

Don’t Forget to Sing

Post written by Raymund Tamayo

We can very easily be burdened with the tasks at hand.

Endless housework, financial insufficiencies, stressful jobs, demanding people, and a difficult ministry.

Complexities are often made more complex by relationship problems and that unwritten rule saying “the world is for the strong” and “only the fittest survive.”

How to Create Silence and Benefit from It

Post written by Raymund Tamayo
Being silent sounds easy. You’re probably thinking “All I need to do is sit still and do nothing. I don’t need to read anything on being silent.”

Very well, try it now for a moment. Set a timer for 2 minutes.

Just sit still. Don’t move.
