Integrity Upheld

“As for me, You uphold me in my integrity, And set me before Your face forever.” - Psalm 41:12
Joseph was a righteous man who had cultivated a reputation for godliness in his community. Then word spread across the community that Mary, the woman to whom he was engaged, was expecting a child. There would be many who would assume the worst of this apparently scandalous situation. Joseph probably experienced gossip from some, ostracism from others. Yet he was a man of integrity, aware that God knew the truth of his relationship with Mary.

Training in Spiritual Discipline

Posted by Raymund Tamayo

“But refuse profane and old wives tales, and exercise yourself rather unto godliness. For bodily exercise profits for a little while: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.” – 1 Timothy 4:7-8
Excelling in any sport means spending hours and hours in training. It doesn't matter whether you are an athlete, musician, or anyone who is trying to be great at something.

No one achieves excellence in any field without tremendous self-discipline, hours of rigorous training, and a willingness to suffer great hardship in order to achieve the goals one has set for himself.

The Blessing of Excellence at Work

Posted by Raymund Tamayo

While God requires us to work, at the same time, He leads others to pay us a fair wage for the work we do. We find a marvelous example of good compensation for excellence at work in the life of Joseph, the eleventh son of Jacob.

Create in Me a Clean Heart

“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” – Psalm 51:10
We often think of our heart as our “love” organ, where in fact it is our “life” line. It is the organ which works to make blood flow within our veins, keeping us alive physically. The blood that keeps our body alive in the flesh flows through our veins, and as Christians, the royal blood of our master, Jesus, also flows through our innermost being, giving us eternal life and a changed life.

Led into Difficulty

Raymund's Note: This sermon by Dr. Paul Chappell is re-posted from www.dailyintheword.org.

“And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.” - Luke 4:1–2
There is a widespread idea today that if we are doing what we should, everything will work out wonderfully—we won’t get sick, we won’t have money trouble, and our families will enjoy peace and harmony. Yet the Bible paints a different picture. While there are blessings for obedience, the Christian life is far from being simple and painless. There are times when doing exactly what we should do leads us to difficulty and hardship. Jesus was not out of place when the devil came to tempt Him. He was exactly where the Holy Spirit had led Him.

7 Signs that You Are in a Wrong Relationship

Post written by Raymund and Denielle Tamayo

In this post, we have compiled 7 signs to recognize that you are in a "wrong" relationship. It applies to both married and unmarried couples, but the applications from each would be quite different from one another.

We believe that marriage is a lasting covenant done with God and so recognizing that a marriage relationship is wrong should not end up in divorce or separation from our perspective, but it should be worked out by both partners, of course, with the help of God.

However, if you are still unmarried, then there is a lot to think about these 7 signs of a wrong relationship.

The Husband's Leadership - Growing To Become the Husband God Wants You To Be (Part 4)

Post written by Raymund Tamayo

Writer's note: This is the continuation of my previous blog post, "How to Love Your Wife the Biblical Way - Growing To Become the Husband God Wants You To Be (Part 3)" aimed to share some basic biblical knowledge to my fellow young husbands and/or husbands to be.

In this post, I will talk about the kind of leadership that God wants a husband to have over his wife and family.

As we all know, there are many different types of leadership styles that the world uses these days not only at work but also within the context of a family, such as autocratic, democratic, pacesetting, affiliative, and coaching.

God's mandate of leadership for a husband is a unique one, but it could also be applied not only with your family but also in a workplace setting.

Be Inspirational

Post written by Raymund Tamayo

“The most important thing is to try and inspire people so that they can be great in whatever they want to do.” – Kobe Bryant

You know that you are doing something right when you are able to inspire other people rather than making them feel bad about themselves.

One of the most profound things you can do for others is to inspire them to reach their full potential. To help them achieve their true greatness. To make them realize the reason why on earth they are here.

But you cannot become inspirational if you yourself are not inspired. Inspiration begins within you and how you think.

Resolve to Live a Godly Life

Post written by Raymund Tamayo

It’s the beginning of another year and people are psychologically triggered to make New Year’s resolutions. If you ask me, I’d rather create good habits one at a time, and put off old bad habits to start the year.

I’d also rather take you to the book of Psalm chapter 101:2 where the psalmist King David said “I will be careful to lead a blameless life – when will you come to me? I will conduct the affairs of my house with a blameless heart.”

Morning Praises: An Upright Heart

Post written by Raymund and Denielle Tamayo

“I will praise you with an upright heart as I learn your righteous laws.” – Psalm 119:7

Praising God is natural for those who truly love Him.

And truly loving Him is shown in our obedience to His Word. Praise is basically linked to our character.
